#Spiritual Principle: Silence

Silence is a beneficial place in our lives. My connection with stillness is one of prayer for me. Praying has been a really quiet method for me to have a one-on-one connection with my creator. Those times are significant to me; I don’t have the words to express how grateful I am, but it is this delight that no other object can provide me. I want everyone to discover their proper thing via quiet; it’s all about what offers you calm in that particular location at that particular time.

“We enter the land of silence by the silence of surrender, and there is no map of the silence that is silence”-(Laird, 3). Throughout life, society and people are continually exposed to events, major and little, that impact them in a variety of ways. These encounters may be positive or negative, and many have the potential to change people’s lives. One of the most intense and significant of these events, though, might go entirely unrecognized. This profound sensation is often referred to as quiet, yet it has a considerably more nuanced influence on life than most people understand. Silence not only can alter an individual’s life, but it also has the power to affect whole cultures and even bring about change around the globe.

Silence may improve people’s lives in a variety of ways. It might be as easy as taking the time to pause and appreciate the sights and sounds of life. The times in life that are enhanced by quiet, on the other hand, might be considerably more complicated. Consider the first time a mother holds her newborn child in her arms, or a friend sitting alongside someone who is dying in a hospital bed. These are significantly more complicated events, yet neither would be as profound without the silent unsaid bond between mother and child or the period of quiet somberness spent next to a dying friend. “Silence is a watching bird. There isn’t a songbird insight. A curious bird. A bird observes, notices, and listens. Being. Here. Now.” People would not be able to get the same deep delight from life’s various moments if they did not take the time to remain quiet and silent.

Furthermore, quiet may be employed to bring about change in the world. “The mutual silences are the terrain of the silent land”(Laird, 2). Even though silence is often misunderstood as a sort of submission, it may be utilized to effect change in the world. Consider all of the numerous disputes that may be avoided just by being quiet and refusing to get dragged into the negativity. Consider a country that takes the attitude of thinking before acting. If, instead of rushing into a war and exacerbating it, the country takes the time to acquire as much information as possible before acting rashly. Also, if society would consider before following the masses’ activities in contributing to harmful deeds such as wars, prejudice, and poverty. These are just a few examples of those who have utilized quietly to make a difference in the world. Because words may frequently come in the way of effecting change, silence can be utilized to effect change. As a result, the power of silence has a beneficial impact on people’s lives and maybe utilized to effect good change in the world.

For one thing, waiting too long to react to a problem might lead it to spiral out of control. For example, if government authorities had moved swiftly during the 1967 Detroit riots instead of waiting so long to evaluate a plan of action, possibly there would have been much less destruction, death, and injury. Contemplate how, on a much smaller scale, if a parent chooses to consider a potential punishment for anything their kid has done, he or she may assume that whatever they did wrong was not all that horrible. While spending the time to think about a problem before making a choice might be good, it is important to remember that taking that additional time may cause the issue to deteriorate. Second, examine the potential consequences on an individual level if individuals stayed mute and kept things pent up within during times of crisis.

Allowing issues or unpleasant sentiments to develop without seeking to resolve them may be harmful not just to the person but also to everyone around them. For example, in today’s culture, marriages are disintegrating as a result of difficulties that arise but are never addressed. This has a significant impact not just on the persons involved in the failed marriage, but also on the people around them, particularly if they have children. Consider the current hot button subject of bullying in schools. There may be possibilities to avert many sad results among children today if we ensure that not only the individual being bullied does not stay silent, but that everyone aware of the situation does not remain silent as well. For example, if the kid being bullied or someone aware of the issue speaks out and strives to obtain aid for the situation, it may prevent the youngster from committing suicide or, in the worst-case scenario, performing a mass act of violence on their school. Even though many individuals would like to push these sorts of difficulties under the rug and pretend that they do not exist, they must continue to resist this attitude to prevent the problems from growing to the point of no return.
